Strategic Information Unit

  • Provision of vision and leadership on Strategic Information (SI) and Quality Improvement (QI) matters
  • Coordinate development and revision of policy guidelines, standard operating procedures, training materials and other protocols for HIV strategic information and quality improvement
  • Coordinate implementing partners in the implementation of SI, QI and health sector HIV and AIDS research while ensuring adherence to policy guidelines
  • Provide technical support to RACCs, DACCs and Technical Staff within the unit on SI and QI issues towards the control of HIV and AIDS epidemic.
  • Coordinate SI and QI technical forums including Technical Working Groups and Sub-committees
  • Institute and coordinate supportive supervision and mentorship system in line with NACP/MOHCGEC guidelines and support regions and district health management teams to do the same.
  • Spearhead the integration of QI activities into the regions, districts and health facilities work plans and budgets in line with the NACP/ MOHCGEC policy for QI.
  • Develop and set performance standards with each staff in the SI section (appraisal system)
  • To ensure timely execution of Planned activities under the SI section under all available source of funds (CDC, GF, WHO, UNICEF, PEPFAR)
  • To ensure timely and completeness of all reports under the SI section (activity & seminar reports, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports
  • Overall advisor on HIV Strategic Information matters to the NACP and the Ministry at large.

Health Information Systems (HIS)

  • To provide vision and leadership on HIS matters
  • To coordinate development and revision of policy guidelines, standard operating procedures, training materials and other protocols for HIS.
